A village called Talkhak is suffering a drought. The inhabitants are praying, and following their traditions, are waiting for Dotari, a master in playing Dotar, to play a piece so that the sky would cry and send some rain over them. The ceremony is being held and Dotari is playing when Rasool arrives to the village carrying the warblers that he had hunted. The inhabitants of Talkhak believe that killing a bird would take the blessing away from the land. So Rasool’s arrival disrupts the ceremony. In the midst of the distress and disturbance of the crowd, Dotari leaves the ceremony upon seeing the hunted birds in Rasool’s hands. Since then, the life of Rasool and her mother, who supports him anyway, gets difficult. Finally, Rasool that blames himself, decides to start a long journey in search of Dotari. A journey so long and difficult that no one believes it would ever end.
